The particles in and out are among the most versatile in English. At their core, in means movement into an enclosed space (a room, a building, a vehicle), while out means movement out of such a space. Beyond movement, both particles combine with many verbs to create fixed phrasal expressions with specific meanings.

Les particules in et out font partie des plus polyvalentes en anglais. In signifie un mouvement vers l’intérieur d’un espace fermé, tandis que out signifie un mouvement vers l’extérieur. Ces deux particules se combinent avec de nombreux verbes pour former des expressions fixes.
