Enough means ‘as much/many as necessary’. Too means ‘more than acceptable’. They are opposites: too hard = more than necessary; not hard enough = less than necessary. Their position in a sentence follows strict rules.

In English, unlike French (assez grand), enough always follows the adjective or adverb: ✓ big enough, fast enough. Never enough big.
